A great way to start learning how to run your business effectively is to sign up for our 60-hour training program, designed to help you think through the basics of successfully launching your business. This course will help you see the big picture—operations, pricing strategy, marketing, sales, management, financial statements, and other key aspects of running a business. Emphasis is placed upon developing an effective business plan that will serve as an operations guide as well as an instrument for soliciting financing, where appropriate.

Learn to think strategically, discussing topics like:

How do you structure your production?
How much will you need to charge—and what volume will you need to sell—in order to break even? What about to make a profit?
At what point should you hire employees?
How will you finance your business?
What will your sales outlets be—online, in stores, through other companies?
How will you choose and develop your special niche?
What does your target market look like?
How will you attract and retain customers?
How much money do you need?

The course runs two evenings a week, 6–9p.m., for ten weeks. Structured to correspond with the components of a business plan, this course will help you get your plan on paper. As you study side-by-side with other start-up entrepreneurs, you’ll have the opportunity to form a network for mutual support. If you are interested in registering for the next EAP course, please call the BEC at (718) 385-6700, ext. 10, or email kenyat@ldceny.org.
