In 1989, the LDC initiated one of the first entrepreneurial training programs in the City. The Brooklyn Enterprise Center (BEC) currently offers a number of programs to assist low-income individuals and micro-entrepreneurs with training, counseling and technical assistance.

Training programs

  1. EAP intensive classes

    Everything you need to know to write a business plan and start a business will be taught during our yearly Entrepreneurial Assistance Course, starting in September.  There is no need to be overwhelmed; our highly experienced staff will take you by the hand through the process. No prior knowledge or attendance is required- participants need only a business idea they wish to develop!

    We offer a large range of technological skills workshops to get you started  or further your progress in creating your own website, Quickbooks, social media and search engine optimization, Microsoft Office and Google drive and Computer skills
